Synopsis
• Due to the available possibilities and the need of Qalubia region ( and close suburbs), Benha University council agreed to establish a faculty of computer and informatics at the university in session No 17 on 16/10/2006.
• The presidential resolution No. 267/2006 was decreed to establish the faculty.
• The faculty is located in Benha with a separate entrance at the general location which includes the High Institute of Technology and west to the Faculty of Science.
• The faculty is affiliated to the computer and informatics sector at the supreme council of universities. Responsibilities
• Preparing specialists in informatics with great knowledge and applied and scientific skills coping with integrated and continuous development requirements for society's all fields and covering work market needs.
• Providing scientific and technical consultations to bodies and institutions which use computer and informatics techniques and which are related to decision making.
• Deepening awareness of computer and informatics techniques in the state sectors and institutions; and upgrading their using efficiency by specialized courses.
• Organizing courses and holding scientific conferences aiming at deepening conceptions and raising the scientific level among specialized cadres.
• Contracting scientific agreements with counterpart institutions on local, regional and international levels aiming at exchanging experiments and doing researches related to informatics specializations.
• Setting up advanced specialized research units in all deferent branches of computer science.
